Godard Ready For Busy 2026 Season
Dakota Godard has yet to finalize his 2026 racing schedule but one thing is for sure, the 89 car is going to be very busy. Godard says " He expects to be in the Willamette Speedway title hunt all while chasing a few headline events in the Pacific Northwest.
A busy schedule like Godard has laid out will make it tough to claim back to back championships as he comes off the 2025 season crowned as the J&K Street Stock champion. The third of his career with a fourth championship on his resume in the Stock Car division.
A regular to Victory Lane and looking for a fifth title Godard will definitely have to have Lady Luck with him in his championship quest. Under the new NASCAR banner and format, a track championship could be a little more feasible than state, regional and national championships as the sanctioning body only uses a drivers 14 best nights for points. Missing a couple of sanctioned points races will make it difficult but the defending Street Stock champ says "He's ready for the challenge and expects to be at his home track on a regular basis with the exception of three or four dates."
The J&K Auto Body & Collision Street Stocks are sanctioned as division II at Willamette Speedway and will compete against twelve other tracks in the western region for regional points.
Godard would have been in the division II national title mix in 2025 claiming twelve feature victories in fifteen starts last season that culminated in a streak of four consecutive wins to close the season and confirm his third title in the highly competitive field.
He's looking to start 2026 like '25 ended with a victory this Saturday night at the season opener for Willamette Speedway. He may be a busy man balancing a young family and a heavy race schedule but one is for sure, he's showing up to give it everything he has to chase a fouth title in the division and fifth overall.
Willamette Speedway opens the season Saturday night April 18.
